Ella Ringner talks us through her interiors style

Textile designer and friend of Salvesen Graham, Ella Ringner is best known as the Founder of Yolke, a luxury British sleepwear brand founded in 2014 that now counts covetable ready-to-wear pieces, children’s wear and homewares in its collection.

Meet the founder of YOLKE

Loved for its whimsical prints and playful use of colour and pattern, Yolke designs take their inspiration from myriad of sources, including Ella's deep love of vintage treasures, which she combines with modern sihouettes and a sustainable manufacturing process.

To celebrate Yolke's exciting upcoming collaboration with Salvesen Graham, we caught up with Ella to find out what she's most looking forward to about seeing the collection come to life.

How does colour influence how you design pieces?

I always start with a colour palette first and foremost and then develop this into a print based on the season and styles we are working on. Colour really sets the mood of a collection and is a powerful tool in the design process even before the print, material or shape. At Yolke our ethos is to create joy-giving clothes, so colour is key to this. Wearing a colour you love gives you a mood boosting thrill and confidence, which is what we are all about.

Which piece from the collaboration are you most looking forward to incorporating into your bedtime routine?

The hot water bottle without a doubt! I absolutely love sleeping with one or cosying up to read with one and have since childhood. It’s such a nostalgic comfort and so needed when living in an old country house!

What are you most excited to share from the upcoming collaboration?

A love of print across some of our most loved items.

What do you think of using sleepwear as daywear?

Everything! A pyjama shirt is such an established part of my day-to-day wardrobe.

What is your interiors style?

Antique, textured and colourful.

How would you style the homeware pieces from the collaboration?

We have a pretty little spare room in our house with the best view over the wood behind the house. It’s like a perfect little hotel guest suite so I will be layering up the quilt and the pillowcases as the cherry on the welcoming cake.

Do you have a favourite Salvesen Graham room?

I adore the yellow utility room in the Cornish country house project. It’s the image that put Salvesen Graham on my radar and one that just brings so much joy to look at.
